Walks
Find the right walk for you
In this section, we will present five walks that are broadly based on the stories and connection residents of the Peak District and Sheffield City have shared with us. The walks are a combination of stories and historical facts and invite to immerse yourself in the landscape as seen and experienced by other people who love the places.
Please find the walk that you want to go on, read the stories and download the GPX data for your own device and outdoor app. Or, alternatively, you can print the map and take it with you. All maps use the Open Street Map as basemap with details on the route and landmarks.
We would love to meet you at the HOD at the Moorland Discovery Centre, Longshaw Estate on 18 October, where you can find out about the research at the University of York, best ways to plan your own routes and how you can participate in the collection of landscape stories. We also provide you with waterproof maps, leaflets and a Kendal Mint Cake as provision for your self-guided walks.
